RUSTIC GLAMOUR

I wanted to show you just a few details of my past week spent at one of the most amazing wedding receptions ever. The bride (aka my sweet sister-in-law and dear friend) did a fantastic job at putting it all together. Love was truly in every.single.detail. These are just some quick photos I took while we were setting up, and they really don’t do justice to the event. I hope to get my hands on some of the pics taken by the pros. When I do, you’ll be one of the first to see them and get all the vendor information.

IT’S FINALLY COMING TOGETHER

After months of researching and planning, we are close to finally going live with the official Anne Madison website. I can’t wait to show you the final product, but until then I thought I’d give you a sneak peek of a few product photos from the multi-talented Mrs. Amy Melquist of Kitchen Pilots.

(Tomorrow morning, I’m leaving on a jet plane for some family time so blog posts will be less than regular this week. I’ll be back the following week with new posts and a brand new website!)

A SPOOKTACULAR WEEKEND

It’s one of the sweetest weekends of the year, literally. Are you dressing up or staying home to pass out treats to all the pint-sized ghouls and goblins? Our party plans are just penciled in, but we have a long-standing tradition of snuggling on the couch with a cozy blanket, watching scary movies and eating all the leftover candy. Wishing you a frighteningly great weekend. Here are some fun things on the web to enjoy over the next few days:

* the best list of Halloween movies  (don’t judge the source; you know you used to have a subscription.)

* everything Emerson does is amazing – check out the place she calls home here

* this is such a delicious twist on a classic cookie – made them last night and they were a ginormous hit

* it’s about that time to start thinking of your 2012 calendar, and this one is as pretty as it is functional

* LOVE this coat

IN THE STUDIO: HELLO SAILOR

The hello, sailor notecards are ready to go! I showed a preview of them here. They are offset printed in three colors on a linen stock.

GETTING AWAY FROM IT ALL

We spent this past weekend here on the magical beaches of the PNW. Without cell reception, TV and internet, life drastically slowed down. It was one of the most relaxing two days ever. Time was spent reading in front of a crackling fire with a warm mug of hot cocoa, walking the little monsters, playing cards, marveling at nature’s beauty, snuggling under a warm blanket listening to the rain, and getting away from the inconvenience of modern conveniences.

ROAD TRIP: WEST ELM

Presents are wrapped in stamped kraft paper and ribbon, silver tinsel overflows from glass hurricanes and ornaments of all different shapes, sizes and textures  - West Elm has arrived in Seattle just in time for the holidays! The store is a contrast of warm, natural elements and modern industrial architecture, and the massive living wall is a destination in itself. The feather wreaths (seen here) were sadly anti-climatic, but there were many other trinkets and goods that were so much better in person.
